This is the best non-Gastro pub you could find. It’s real. It’s traditional. A fab mix of old and new in the decor. Immaculately clean!! I watched the waitress clean every condiment container before replacing neatly on the shelf. A friendly welcome. The food is a perfect testament to that ‘home cooked’ phrase, but no frills. Good honest food and atmosphere. Love it!
Place itself was well presented and clean, with a cosy atmosphere. The waiting on staff were very pleasant, however the food was disappointing, bland and not what you would call a generous portion. Reasonably priced if the portions had been a bit bigger, the lasagne and chips could have easily been mistaken for a child's portion!
Came here after Calke Abbey was closed and we were so happy we did! The staff were so welcoming and gave us a lovely comfy table for 9. Food was delicious, generous portions and very reasonably priced. It arrived in good time too. Dog and children friendly. Will definitely return when next in the area. Thanks again!
