The Crown - Réservation de table

Called in here a couple times during our stay, small but really friendly pub, just behind the main street. There isn't any food served here but what I personally, enjoyed was that, the only beers and lagers are from their own brewery, Cornish Crown, apart from one cider. If you want muti-national brands this is not the place for you. As a lager drinker I tried both the Cornish Pilsner and my favourite, Longrock Cornish Lager. Whilst my brother was a big fan of both Cornish Crown IPA and Cornish Crown SPA, we will definitely revisit, next time in Penzance.

Nice pub, especially if you can sit outside. Very friendly staff. But the beer is very subjective. If you like an ale such as Doombar or Skinners, you may enjoy a pint here. If you usually drink Verdant or Firebrand beers, you'll most likely not like the beer. I had a Pilsner which just tasted dirty... if that makes any sense... chemically after taste. couldn't finish it. Ale wasn't rounded and was just lacking in any kind of depth or flavour. I want to love it, as it is a small Cornish brewery... but until they change the brewing, it ain't gonna happen.

Towards the end of our stay in Penzance we found this little gem of a pub. We were welcomed in like old friends along with my very large dog cookie. The beer was excellent and hospitality top class. Sitting chatting with the staff and locals it was more like a meeting of good friends than of people who had only just met, it's just a shame that we only found the pub on our last night. If I am in Penzance again in the future I will definitely make another visit!

2nd visit to Penzance 2nd (multiple! visits to this pub. Proper ale from their own brewery, friendly owners and a real local flavour. Made to feel very welcome and will definitely be back on our next visit…..a real pub tan by real people with real drinks what’s not to like?! Réservez une table maintenant

Great staff, really friendly and welcoming, made you feel at home very quickly. The beer is absolutely awesome too, they have their own brewery locally and you can pick up some of their cans to take away. The quiz is a great laugh too! Will be back!

Lovely little Tap bar off the beaten track but very accessible. No food on offer but plenty of bar snacks and an excellent choice of Cornish ales. Friendly staff

The best acoustic music night in Cornwall by a country mile. Great atmosphere, great beer, great staff, great music.

Brew their own beer. Lovely. No food but they don’t mind if you eat a take away there. Friendly pub.
