The Dining Room has a stellar reputation and going by Google reviews, exceptional in every way. And I will continue to beat that drum. I had the absolute joy of dining here last night. Meticulous attention to detail wove through the evening, through the food and service and ambience, pulling all the elements together into a work of art. The visual beauty of the food did not set you up for a disappointing mouthful. Every flavour and component was there for a reason and played off each other purposefully. Superb and challenging dishes, expertly prepared and beautifully presented. Fabulous home baked bread with either a Clotted Cream butter or Marmite infused one. A trio of Amuse Bouche was a tickler to the taste buds. Crab was chosen by 3 and I had the Beetroot as a starter. Fabulous smoked cheddar custard with mine. 1 Sea Bass and 3 Venison followed. All dishes are a full frontal assault on the taste buds. Finished with each of the puddings. Coconut one was too sweet fo mu taste but the Hazelnut and Chocolate is a stunner.
This was exceptional food wise, tastes, portion sizes (amuse bouche breads to kick off . Venison was perfectly cooked, but all other dishes were excellent also (we cross shared on the table, often frowned upon but with every dish, we all wanted to share how good they were!!! . I would also make mention that the pricing was v good both good and wine. Service was also excellent, attentive but not fussy or intrusive. Exactly what you want. Most definitely returning!
Gorgeous beautifully presented food. A warm friendly atmosphere the staff are fabulous, going above and beyond to really look after their customers. Whenever we are in the area, usually staying at the excellent Trewornan Manor, we make sure to dine here. The food is exceptional, the service is top-notch, and the prices are a great deal for the quality of fine dining offered. It is a true delight. Reservations are recommended as the restaurant is on the smaller side.
We had a lovely evening, staff were amazing so nice and friendly. The food was impeccable. They happily catered to me even though I am vegan, which I really appreciated. This restaurant is absolutely fantastic! The food was delicious and the staff were lovely. Our meal was amazing from start to finish. We can't wait to come back for our next visit.
