I don't normally write poor reviews of hotel meals because they are what they are, however last weekend the wife and I had dinner in The Ed Hotel, Mitchum. Service was efficient and friendly on arrival and the new dining room atmosphere seemed good. Wife ordered butter chicken and I ordered salt and pepper squid with greek salad. Food was delivered on time however the salt and pepper squid was well overcooked and difficult to eat. At $27 a main I was suitably unimpressed. While having our dinner, a rain downpour occurred and shortly after water began leaking through the roof onto my wife. We advised a member of staff who left then returned and asked us to move our table to avoid the leaking...

We visited the Edinburgh for lunch on the first day of wintery weather. The venue has plenty of off street parking and is in a pleasant part of Adelaide. The hotel offers a variety of eating and drinking areas and the overall design and ambience of the hotel is lovely. The meals we selected were very nice but not noteworthy. Our only disappointment was the attitude of the staff that matched the weather outside! At no stage did we feel welcome. In fairness one of our friends did say how nice the staff had been on a previous visit. Maybe today there was something that had upset the staff before we arrived. Sadly a future recommendation will be offered with the following comment " the meals are...

Extremely disappointed, four of us went for dinner to celebrate a birthday, new waiter being trained, we understand that but certainly had to wait. Every time we tried (by various methods) to get the attention of a waiter we were ignored. We had to wait for some time for our food. One asked for a medium rare steak which was over cooked. The risotto was very ordinary, dry and flavorless. The best part of the meal was the affogato. Laura the waitress totally ignored us and when we broached the fact that we had tried to get service and even put a hand up in front of her, it was the fact that she was training a new waiter - not my problem.

Had not been here for years and decided to have lunch on a rainy day. Very disappointed with the food which was very ordinary and not executed well at all. Even our chips were unpleasant, like they had used rancid oil to cook in. The atmosphere was very noisy and not really conducive to a relaxing Sunday afternoon so we left pretty quickly in search of somewhere a bit more inviting for our coffee. We are constantly disappointed that venues do not give enough thought to noise absorbing in their interior design, but this place was made worse by the industrial sounds and clacking from the kitchen. Visited here today for lunch with family. It was my first time there. Whilst the parking and location is easy to access, it's a bit of a rabbit warren when it comes to layout. The food was good but no better than a lot of other pub fare in Adelaide. The service was average, we had to ask for drinks several times. And to top it all off our waitress was wearing a rather short skirt which I felt was inappropriate service attire. However, the kicker was glancing towards the bar and seeing a member of the wait staff trying to open the foil on a bottle of champers with her teeth, WTF?

Went for Sunday lunch and enjoyed a pub meal in pleasant surroundings. All the usuals on the menu with some daily specials at prices to suit all budgets. Wine by the glass quite expensive.Plenty off-street parking. Disappointing to see that some staff were not appropriately attired; we were greeted by a waiter wearing black shorts which were not perfectly clean and one of the waitresses was wearing an extremely short, cut-off skirt with dangling threads which was not a good look.

Went for a mid week catch up with a friend, atmosphere was relaxed, service was good & attentive, but We waited just over 50 minutes for two mains, it wasn't very busy & my chicken was warm when it arrived, asked for a side of green vegetables but was told they didn't have any, not really good enough in my opinion!

We often visit the Ed as it's a convenient halfway spot for family get togethers. The menu changes with the seasons and there is always something to please everyone. Whether you're seated inside or out, it's always comfortable, even in the middle of winter. Réservez une table maintenant

This is a very good place to keep an eye on for different microbrews as they rotate them regularly. There is also a good range of wine.
