Food quality had taken a dive in recent years, culminating in today's fail. How hard is it to make a ham, cheese & tomato croissant?? It was terrible. The "croissant" tasted like a loaf of bread from Coles, the tomato had no flavour, the cheese was literally plastic cheese slices. The score of 1 is for the ham because it actually tasted like ham.
When in Melbourne I stay at the Loin apartments and always have a meal here at some point. I have to say for a pub meal this place is organised and the food is always good. Yep, they do a schnitzel and chips but importantly they do curries, fish and use some good ingredients to make the food standout. Price is good... give it a go!
Was there on Wed in restaurant section. Girl who waited on our table was outstanding. We eat out a few times a week and we have never come across someone more professional and friendly. Hope you guys look after your staff because staff like her are hard to come by Food was amazing too
Would highly recommend The Lion for functions/events. The staff were all super friendly, helpful, and organised in the lead up to my 21st, and on the actual night. The food was great, and everything ran smoothly! Réservez une table maintenant

We had a beautiful breakfast at The Old Lion before we headed home! The breakfast was fantastic and the staff were so friendly and helpful! Will definitely be back

I've loved the lion as a pub and a meeting venue, for over forty years now along with a heap of changes to the place , all good though .
