I hadn't been to this restaurant in a while, and I recently returned. Unfortunately, my experience was underwhelming. It wasn't terrible, just disappointing. Paying $9 for six tiny jalapeño poppers (which amounted to just three jalapeños) was somewhat laughable. The rest of the food was quite bland, with no salt on the fries or any of the other dishes. While I understand the need to cut back on salt, the food really needs some seasoning. The staff seemed understaffed and unhappy as well. I'm hoping this place isn't losing the charm that made us love it so much in the past. I trust that management will take this feedback into account, and we'll consider giving it another shot in the future!
Have given this place several opportunities as we want so bad for it good since it’s so close to our house and not a ton of other similar options nearby. The vibe is great, so much potential, but the experience seems to get worse every time. Bartenders who seem like they hate their jobs and your inconveniencing them by ordering drinks, mediocre food, and laughable hours. Want to get dinner at 7:45 on a Thursday night? Try again. Literally were told the kitchen was closed even though they advertise 8:00, and 9:00 on Friday/Saturday. Want to catch the Monday night football game at the bar? You’ll be lucky to catch the kickoff before they lock the doors.
We had a great dinner with friends at The Local. The cocktails were delicious and the food was excellent. Our server was very pleasant, but she could have checked on us more frequently. We went without water for a while and almost didn't order another cocktail because she seemed to be absent for some time. I'm not sure if this was intentional or due to being short-staffed, but it's something that could be improved. Overall, we had a wonderful evening at The Local! Be sure to try the tater tots and the Margatini – they were amazing!
Told kitchen closed at 8. Asked at 7:55. Just wanted some wings, tots, or humus plate. nothing crazy. Wasn’t sure why it was such a big deal to accommodate any food request. Old fashioned was good regardless. Thanks ya’ll Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Tater Tots, Wings
