The manageress made a scene in front of other customers, suggesting we were wrong and even made condescending remarks. We didn't receive an apology even though the discount was applied before payment. The entire encounter was degrading and made us want to leave. Despite trying to lighten the mood, the manageress continued to be sarcastic and disrespectful.
She even commented on our seating arrangement and lingered unnecessarily at our table. The quality of the food was also disappointing, with the ham and chips not meeting our expectations. We have never been spoken to this way in a customer service setting before, and even other customers noticed the manageress's behavior.

This doesn’t deserve even one circle. Let’s begin I could write an essay about how bad this place is but it would take as long as the food took to get in here. Take my word for it the customer service from this manager is appalling she really needs to attend some training on it. She was rude and wasn’t able to own the mistakes she made. My partner and I decided to have lunch at this pub while we were in the area, and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, creating a great atmosphere. The pub is spacious which made social distancing easy. We discovered that the pub has recently changed management, and it is much better than previous reviews suggest. I would definitely recommend it and will visit again when I am in the area.

Popped in for a drink late afternoon. Excellent social distancing measures in place and table service. young bar man was very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Very large pub with various table layouts and rooms and great for social distancing.
I returned to this restaurant after many years since leaving university at Edgehill, and it's safe to say that it has declined significantly. The staff were incredibly rude and made guests feel anything but welcome.
Went here before lockdown because the pub was under new management. New landlords are friendly and welcoming. Top food as always, can't wait to get back in and enjoy a good meal and drinks. Keep up the good work.
Wonderful pub/restaurant with happy and friendly staff. The food was faultless and really tasty, well done to the chef Daniel. Will be sure to return very soon, highly recommend.

I had hunters chicken and chips and my friend had steak and ale pie with chips both 10/10 staff are excellent very welcoming
