We went to dinner here for my birthday. The food was by far, the worst meal I have ever had to pay for. The seared scallops were the size of a quarter, they were not seared but, well over cooked rubbery nastiness with absolutely zero flavor. It could have been tofu for all I could tell. The filet minion was mediocre at best. Over cooked but, still edible. The shrimp cocktail was nothing more than your Costco shrimp coctail special with extra lemon. Save your money and cook your own flavorful meal. After being completely disappointed in the attempt at enjoying what you had imagined to be a good birthday dinner. Then to get stuck with the $180 bill on top of it while sitting at the high-class...
My wife and I had dinner with friends last night at the Montana Club. We all enjoyed our dinners, and were impressed by the food and wine choices. Entrees were creative and portions were generous. The dining room was nearly full when we departed, leaving us optimistic that there can be a future for the Club. We hope so, as we agreed when we got home that we will make the Montana Club a regular destination for dinner in Helena. We encourage the owners to find a way to keep this gem available to Helena diners.
The staff is wonderful...very friendly and willing to spend time with patrons. Kudos to all! The drinks were well made...had a nice assortment of gins. The meal was very good (especially the green curry mussels). I would recommend adding a few more colorful vegetable sides/offerings, to include a basic tossed salad. We spent an unhurried evening in this gorgeous setting... 'would return. Thank you!
Beautiful building, but disappointing restaurant. The summer rolls were flavorless and nearly frozen, my scallops were cold and under seasoned, and somehow even something as simple as steak didn’t hit the mark. The furniture seemed to be ready to be picked up and moved to a wedding reception at any moment. Service was fine, drinks were good, but overall I’d stay away.

The problem wasn't a bad experience, it was NO experience. We showed up precisely at our reservation time and were told there was a wedding dinner going on and they were not open for any reservations! Father's day. Nearby restaurants booked solid. Most local online restaurants booked as well. Not exactly what we expected.
Worst service ever! We had our anniversary dinner here and waited 2 hours for our food. Our waitress only came to us about 4 times within that timeframe. The food was even worse than the wait and the drinks were way overpriced. Would not recommend to anyone.
We had a great experience at the original Montana club the other evening. The scallops were delicious and perfectly cooked! Wow. There is no dress code, just in case anyone is wondering. And no requirement to be a member to eat.Food: 5/5
Excellent food, great service, cool old building! Had BTN salad, green curry mussels, and the gnocchi. Everything was delicious, glad to see Rachel from Saigon Alley back in action!

Really great meal at the Montana Club with outstanding view of Helena. Our waitress was very busy but attentive. The food was high quality and tasty.
Such a cool, historic and delicious treat. Highly recommend!
