visited with my pal who is from north allerton in December and we stumbled to the odd fellows pub. young lady working on bar did not look like she was staff member, think she spent more of her time outside smoking with other customers than serving drinks. think I ended up waiting at the bar for 10 minutes and no apologies given to us from the girl. saw another lad pour himslef a pint because he was waiting for atleast 15 minutes another time. absolute shambles. pub was very cold too, stick the heating on make sure the staff aint acting like customers and it would be a nice local. pint was nice anyway and they have number of tellys showing footie
Appearances can be deceptive and from an exterior glance I sort of assumed that the Oddfellows Arms would be a square shaped, small and cosy old pub with twee decor and furnishings. Shape-wise the Oddfellows actually has a long, L-shaped bar with televisions on the wall and the sort of tables and chairs you would find in a working men’s club but, having said that, I must add that it is still a very good pub in the traditional style and we enjoyed good beers while perched contentedly at the bar. The beers were excellent, there was football on the telly, a nice friendly atmosphere and very good service. What’s not to like?
On a cold Tuesday evening in November when most of the pubs in Northallerton were either closed or half empty, the Oddfellows was pretty full. No doubt having football on the telly was a contributing factor, but it is clear that this is a popular local pub. With its tidy interior and good service it’s easy to see why, and we always enjoy coming here when we visit Northallerton.
I don't have a regular pub but if I did it would be this one. The landlord and staff have created a proper community pub that not only caters to the needs of the regulars but also offers special events to those that may be living alone. Oh, and most importantly, the beers are first rate. Keep on doing what you're doing and I'll be in when I'm in town. Thanks George x

Called in over a night stay in Northallerton. Lovely feel to the pub, ales were in really good order and it has a fab beer garden at the rear. The staff were friendly and the owners made time for a chat.... it also has sky sports. I would advise visitors to the town to seek out this pub and spend some time enjoying a pint or two.....
Lovely pub, landlord is really friendly and he allows dogs in. As a beer garden around the back as well. As is own dog called Pepper who is lovely. Lovely traditional pub, which sadly are on the decline. Would definitely recommend this pub, regulars in there are so friendly.
Beer excellent Barman very pleasant. Other customer initially a proper gobshite but after they went, things improved. Be warned the Landlord is a Man Utd fan so plenty of scope for **** taking..
Good selection of beers, great staff and a great atmosphere. Worth a visit to sample a beautiful pint and lovely food in a clean and cosy proper pub.
