Black betty servers authentic American BBQ which is slow roasted unlike any sort of Aussie style BBQ. You generally get slow roasted beef ribs/briskets or pulled pork. They server in thick slices, packing in a good bite of meat without the meat being too tough to chew on. Cost works by per 100grams. We got 100g of both the beef ribs and pork belly. The exterior of this old strip joint hasnt changed much maybe the interior not so much either. But the place sure has a different crowd the food has changed a lot. BBQ is the focus on weekends out the back the a la carte menu on weekdays is American classic driven, with wings, tacos, several versions of burgers, hot dogs schnitzel. Weeknights are even busy with the younger generation having a few casual drinks some decent pub grab. Add a spot of trivia there is no need to wait for weekends only to have fun

If you’re looking for American style BBQ then the Oxford Tavern will be your place! The meat is tender and moist, slow cooked to perfection! Ranging from pork belly, beef brisket and chicken wings, it’s absolutely flavoursome! The best part is that the pub provides board games so your friends will be entertained for hours! Good ol’ American BBQ at a reasonable price at the Oxford!

Popped into here for dinner after work today. Had the Hickory Burger... One of the best burgers I've had in Sydney. Meat was tasty, great sauce and toppings. Crinkly cut fries were awesome too. Bit seedy with hipster bar attitude but I would come back most certainly Réservez une table maintenant

We had a new York strip steak with coleslaw and french fries. It was really delicious and tender. It was chargrilled to perfection. I loved the pepper sauce and mushroom sauce. Great food, great service and a really awesome lunch deal. Will come back again.

I like the oxford tavern. It has yummy food and cold cheap beer and outdoor seating. The bbq is decent as are the pub classics. Inside and from the street it has a divey kinda aesthetic which is cool and doesn't seem forced or too deliberate. Me likey.

The food is good, especially weekends when they have the BBQ but a word of warning; the clientele consists of painfully hip young things so you will need to focus on the food and drink and block out the urge to punch everyone you see.

Tried the parmigiana with eggplant, well cooked and fresh ingredients, above average for pub food, would have it again. Nice space for dining out back as the front is still a bit daggy. Réservez une table maintenant

I highly recommend this place, went there for lunch and got a plate of there BBQ, had most thing on the BBQ menu and all tasted incredible.
