The River Restaurant

A Sunday drive, 3 couples in convertibles, sunny warm day. Decided to try the Rivers restaurant in Woodstock, NB. We arrived at their busiest time, ordered drinks and a bit later food. Took a long time to receive our meals but to be fair, they were busy, as the outdoor patio was full and inside had many customers. I ordered the tavern strip loin steak, medium, with steak fries, great steak, cooked perfectly and could have had an entire meal off the delicious fries. We were on the road home after visiting NFLD, and this pub style restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel staff in Woodstock. We ordered the home cooked meatloaf dinner and the ginger beef. Both entrees were very tasty and served promptly by Kayla. Great atmosphere, friendly service, nice location, cold beer, hot food and reasonable prices made this place a welcome stop on our vacation.

Staff is friendly. There was seating inside or outside. I choose the inside due to the outside humidity.Service was quick and friendly. I ordered the tavern steak, a side of fries with gravy and vegetable. I ordered the steak medium and got medium-well but that was okay. Had the cheesecake for desert and it was good.

A large family group went in and they had to change up the tables to seat us all. That was not a problem. The food was good the drinks were cold. It took a little while to get our food since it was extremely busy. That right there is a very good sign. It was worth the wait.

Friendly service, good food and a beautiful setting on the river. We ate on the deck overlooking the river and the setting was perfect. Our waitress was super nice and made us feel so welcome.

met with a couple clients to discuss business. Very quiet until thundertorm came through and everyone form the patio came in. Excellent food and drink and very pleasant servers.
