The food was excellent, especially the sandwiches. I was pleasantly surprised by both the portion sizes and the quality, considering it was a buffet. There were generous portions of ham and chicken, all of which was delicious. The beer selection was also impressive and quite enjoyable.

Really nice pub and setting on a nice day for food etc, dog friendly pub, staff really pleasant and accommodating, food right up there with the best traditional dishes, it's been a few years since my last visit but I will be returning alot sooner next time.

I can see why this place has so many good reviews. Spent a little more than we usually would, but this was on boxing day and was well worth it. The chorizo and prawn starter was delicious and the lasagna was perfect. Staff were all lovely too.

I went on Christmas Eve with my two sons, and the food was incredible! The waitstaff went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with everything. We will definitely be visiting again soon. Thank you very much, The Ship! Réservez une table maintenant

I stopped by for a pint while taking a walk along the canal from Burscough, and I can definitely say I'll be going back to eat there soon—it looked really appealing!

Still the best pub food around. Good ales and a cosy old building. Helpful and professional young staff.
