Myself and she who must be obeyed (sometimes) went to The Watermark for dinner last night...with mixed feelings. Some of the reviews we had read nearly put us off! But, we are so glad we went!! we turned up 1/2 an hour early (the traffic was nice to us for a change), but that wasn't a problem. The staff were smiling and very helpful. We were shown to our seats right away, and asked what we wanted to drink. We also knew what we wanted, so we ordered straight away too. Our nice choices of wine, and a carafe of iced water arrived within 3 minutes. Our entree's arrived soon after our drinks. I got the Sal & Pepper Calamari. One word for it - perfect! Oh so tender and mouth-wateringly delicious!...
Very attractive, stylish hotel and restaurant in a beautiful location right on the river so sitting out on the deck is a great place to relax with a coffee, meal or drink. Like others, I only discovered this place through Scoopon and was surprised to find that it is on the site of the old Ascot Inn. At lunch time on Tuesday the spacious restaurant was empty and seemed unwelcoming, especially as it took a few minutes to locate a staff member and the doors out to the deck were closed. But once out on the deck, where several tables were occupied, the setting and atmosphere were delightful. This is the second time we have been to this venue. First time was for dinner and this time for a Saturday Lunch. The food was yet again brilliant. Price is fantastic with mains, desert and drinks working out to about $55 per person. Meals are large so be warned. :)The four staff on the floor plus the 'Manager' I don't think have ever worked in the food or service industries. They were so SLOW, all over the place achieving little, forgot to bring order pad to the table. Did not listen to what we were ordering. One instance was we ordered a bottle or red wine. We got one glass. Even speaking to the 'Manager" was useless they did not listen, certainly did not offer any apology. It was like wat...
My friend and I went for high tea as part of a scoopon deal. The location was amazing. It was not overly busy but there was 3 staff. We were not even greated when we arrived and the waiter didnt even show us to our table and just pointed saying 'its that one over there'.We got our glass of champagne and our high tea food. The food was amazing however at no point did any of the staff come over to see if we wanted a hot drink or another glass og bubbles. I had to go to the bar to order and it took a good 10 minutes where i had to ask for it again and it still took over 5 minutes. Group of 10 booked in for High Tea. Food was delicious and more than what we could eat. Given champagne on arrival and for those who didn't drink, were able to choose something else, Afterwards could have coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Staff were very friendly - especially the lovely lady who greeted us. Staff were very accomodating in our requests for different drinks, Lovely view of the city out of the window or if you went outside the beautiful Swan River was just below. Lunch with family on a Saturday. The surroundings and view was as advertised; quite with the occasional small boat going pass on the swan river. The busy staff were very helpful, the meals were of a generous size and serviced in a timely manner. Self service ice water was a bonus on such a warm day.We had a scoopon deal, but are happy to return and pay full price. After lunch we took a nice walk on walkway beside the river. Recommended
We used a Scoopon to get a 2 course lunch with a glass of wine. For what we paid it was a good deal. The weather on the day was great so we sat out on the balcony overlooking the river. We chose 1 entree, 2 mains and 1 dessert. The entree was very nice. My chicken was a bit stringy and the sauce was a little sour for my taste. The dessert option was limited but adequate. It was very relaxing and good value as we had used the deal.
Enjoyed a lovely long lunch here...the view is amazing and I loved watching all the comings and goings on the Strand. Our waitress Jess was delightful and the food was amazing. We shared the Beef Brisket platter OMG every mouthful was divine. If you are looking for good food, great wait staff and an amazing view I can't recommend this place enough!!

Had a scoopon lunch with friends on a Saturday, we were all impressed with the surroundings, view was lovely, couldn't fault the staff and the meals were of a generous size and we were very happy overall for the price, we were certainly not treated like second class citizens as others have reported.
