I’m extremely saddened to write this review of the white horse. Its a place I use to love visiting, however it has been slowly changing and totally losing what it is. To start with the service was NOT good at all, I think we were on the invisible table. We were the first Table to arrive and yet the last to receive any drinks or food, people who arrived minutes after us had a starter and main course before us. I wouldn’t have minded but we had ordered very simple meals and it was t in the least bit busy. Our drinks took over minutes to arrive and the lady behind the bar was quite rude when we went to find out how much longer we would wait.Half of the main meals eventually arrived over an hour...
Our dining table was situated in the bar area while a loud football game was on the TV screens which was not ideal. Food was overpriced but ok. Main concern was the behaviour of bar staff and occupants during pandemic. There was zero concern for patrons and their safety. One drunk couple repeatedly knocked in to me with no observance of social distancing and no staff members intervened or recognised their behaviour was inappropriate. The manager was the only person that had some sense and authority but the rest of the staff behaved like they were on their own Saturday night out. I felt unsafe and uncomfortable and would not return
Very much enjoyed our meal with friends. The manager was particularly attentive to our needs and staff were friendly. We had the ribs which were delicious. The noise level in the restaurant was a bit much. chair cushions, a rug etc would help to absorb the noise. All in a a very pleasant evening
