The Wildflower at The Fairmont Chateau Whistler

We dined here last year during an annual ski trip and the service was impeccable, food was great. This year was a completely different experience. The wild game theme was missing, which we later realized is because that’s now offered in the grill room. Our drink order took nearly 30 minutes as the bartender was missing, and that was a leading indicator of the food order. While the salads and appetizers came out timely, the entrees took over an hour to arrive. Perhaps the chef was missing too? Overall, a subpar experience and we won’t return which is a shame given the great experience last year.

We would always come for The Grill Room but we wanted to try the Wildflower for dinner for a change. Service wise – par excellence! Heyley gave us a wonderful service. The fusion on the food we ordered were not as we expected: Caesar’s Salad with kale ! . Best to keep it classic; and the Seafood Chowder I was looking for a certain kind of taste to make it a chowder. But the octopus appetizer was something different. Value for money – all good!

Arrived at 6:30 and ordered cocktails, appetizer, salad and main course within 10 minutes. Main course did not arrive until 8 pm and salad arrived with it. Food was barely warm. No one refilled our water glasses. It was a birthday dinner but we did not want to order dessert due to the long wait for main course and it was 8:40 and thought it might be another long wait. Server was polite but very busy with other tables.

The meal was just ok. flame burnt broccolini really turned me off. The lumberjack poutine was so small for an extra charge of $10 and soggy wedges. The 10 oz was so thick would have been nice to have a thinner steak. For my Birthday meal i wasn't very happy. No desert was even offered. Réservez une table maintenant

Completely overpriced. Food was ok at best. Super salty pasta and sauce. Bread felt old and stale. Never paid that much for that low of a value. We eat out at high end places consistently, and this was the biggest waste of money

The food was excellent. The service was fantastic. We had a problem with a loud and noisy group, where we were seated, and the manager took the effort to find us a new table. Overall, the experience was excellent.

We were there for a birthday dinner and had a wonderful experience……everyone was very friendly and accommodated us even though we were late. Food was exceptional. Our server Emma, was great.
