Had a ladies ' night with 5 friends at Tico on a Saturday night in November. The ambiance was warm and inviting with a variety of patrons both young and old. Initially service was very attentive with drinks coming out quickly and the waitress checking multiple times on our readiness to order food. Food was delicious, we tried a number of options on the Small Plates section of the menu and the mac n cheese was the crowd favorite. However it seems that after a large party arrived, our table may have become less of a priority. I want to begin by mentioning that the service was outstanding and the atmosphere was lively and perfect for a night out. However, overall, the food was disappointing. Out of the small plates and main dishes we tried, the only item we enjoyed was the chips and guacamole. The nachos seemed like fast food and the calamari was not cooked properly. While it wasn't a terrible experience, we probably won't be returning.
Tico used to be an upscale romantic mexican/southwestern restaurant. The kind of place you would take a date. Taking cues from hiphop culture, and night-life bar/eateries, it has been transformed to a performance space for DJs. Food was OK but it mpossible to have a conversation or enjoy the meal.
Nachos were delicious, as were the fried chicken tacos. The garlic shrimp was too oily, and the chicken wings were one note too much chili pepper, not enough other flavors. Service was efficient. Blood orange margaritas were excellent. No problems with reservations or seating.

Tico has delicious and unique food options, for an affordable price for a young adult/working profession! Big inside with lots of seating and groovy lighting. Would recommend for a dinner with friends or a casual date night!
Unfortunately, Tico closed not too long ago. What a shame. A great place we loved going to. Other mediocre places are still open. Why does a great place not succeed??
The food at this restaurant is excellent and interesting. I highly recommend trying the charred kale quesadilla and cauliflower taco. Delicious!
Way too loud for two people to have dinner! We never got our appetizer until our meal came and asked about it. The food was really good though.
