El Paisano is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Carbondale. I always get the dinner special that includes a tamal, enchilada, burrito, taco, chile relleno (they actually do these right, unlike some places I've visited as of late) tostada, AND rice and beans for $11.99. You can't beat that value! It's also great to go to the little grocery store attached to the restaurant. They carry great snacks and necessities if you want to prepare Mexican cuisine at home.
We absolutely love this place! The service is always prompt, and the food is fantastic. The server we frequently have remembers our orders and regularly checks on our table to refill our drinks and provide more salsa. Our orders are always prepared accurately, accommodating all the adjustments we request. We dine here very often!
Fantastic food. Excellent interior with tons of space and seating. The food is at a higher price for Mexicans in this area. But very high quality and delicious. Good service and great chips and salsa. Recommend Steak Tacos! Went during lunchtime and it was packed with employees and customers.
Update: Unfortunately, Taco Tuesday was a letdown. The food was cold, and our drinks arrived only after we finished eating. I will definitely return, but not for Taco Tuesday...ever again. I took away one star for that experience, but overall, every other visit has been excellent. Réservez une table maintenant
The new restaurant is incredible! I absolutely love the decor and the nostalgic vibe of the Old Mississippi Flyway, but it's even brighter! Gil is an amazing bartender and a fantastic host. We'll definitely be returning, especially now that they have a new location!
This restaurant was a hidden surprise for us. It's in a tiny strip mall off the main drag. Very unassuming and simple decor, but the food and service was amazing. I had the Malcajete and my husband had the Ticos dinner. Both were so delicious to describe.
Best tacos in town! The service is excellent. The Hacienda is also a great option with affordable chorizo. I've tried the steak, pulled pork, and shrimp tacos, and they were all amazing. Be sure to wash them down with some horchata!
The staff here is very friendly. The prices are reasonable. The margaritas are strong and served ice-cold! The beer was also chilled and crisp. I highly recommend this restaurant. Réservez une table maintenant
Authentic tacos and the best Mexican cuisine in Carbondale! While there's no fleet license yet, Westroads Liköre is conveniently located nearby.
