You can tell from my profile that I do not write reviews, but I feel like I had such high expectations and was totally let down. I heard from many people that their sloppy joes were better than Millburn Deli and the best around. I walked in and was not greeted by anyone and just walked up to order. The woman behind the counter was not mean, or anything like that, but she certainly was not friendly. What shocked me the most were the prices that exceed those of Manhattan, Millburn Deli, and anywhere around. 1/2 a turkey/roastbeef sloppy joe is about $19. I truly thought I misread it. That sloppy joe is 4 small squares, and not what I would really consider a full meal. I ordered it because I figured I would try to support the local business but when I then watched them carefully weigh out the turkey, cheese, and roast beef, to make sure not to over serve it, I was immediately turned off. Then the employee put on an incredible amount of coleslaw and russian and I went to check out. A drink and a sloppy Joe was almost $25, this is SO not Manhattan or Miami, which would be cheaper in both those places. The sandwich itself was okay but 1000% not worth the price. I would say that I certainly prefer other local Delis and will not be returning. I really try to support small business, and I understand inflation and increased cost of food, but there is increases in prices and then there is extortion and I left a store feeling that I had been completely been ripped off and it is not a good feeling.
