Turner's High Moon

Even and a few friends stopped on a Saturday evening (7/20/22) as it was the only late night spot on the island. Played on a beautiful shuffleboard table (only reason, this place gets two stars). The night went sideways. I ended up with a decent big tab and asked for a printed article entry to see what I got and what the cost division was. Both bartenders began to say that it was literally impossible, and I argued that was b.s., because each business should be able to have an inbox (their fraud if not). I even admitted I was pretty drunk and didn't want to argue, just wanted some kind of reception. The male bartender moved over her iPad so that I could make a picture of my tab (it was the hardest thing he ever did in his life). Funny enough, their POS was Square, all they had to do was explain, I would email an article-based receipt (the 've worked totally well for me). Even after this unnecessarily long argument, I have tipped 30 % grumpy. Shortly after I was asked to leave a Bouncer and quickly leave without argument. I come to find out that my friend was punched by the bounty in the stomach to chat briefly with the friend of the bouncer (not to know that this random woman and the bounty were romantically involved). Awful to be insecure or malicious Bouncer, either concerned about his girlfriend, hit by a girl, or fighting with her as bait people. It is appropriate to expect the opposite sexes to interact in a bar. Not quite innocent here myself, I was very drunk, and fighting with bartenders is a safe way to get out, but definitely the worst night bar I've ever seen. Whole staff could use an ego check and refreshment based service industry professionalism. Based on how the owner responds to negative reviews, I am sure I will also receive some sarcastic response. Definitely better places on the island to spend your money and get a drink cannot see that this place takes much longer.

While visiting from out of town for a week and stayed in Hatteras, we were looking for somewhere local to go and have some tasty beverages and listen to music. Looked online and were unsure about Turner's due to some not so great past reviews. We ended up at a different bar where we met some fun locals. After the bar we were at called last call, we were invited to join them at Turner's. Despite the reviews, we figured we would check it out and see for ourselves. When we got there, there was a $5 charge but were told it was for a 1 year membership so if we came back within the year there would be no additional cover charge and we were good with that. We walked in to find a really fun setting. There was great live music on the stage, the lighting was great for the mood, there were big comfy couches to chill on all along the walls, a nice outdoor patio, games, dancing and friendly people. It was obviously a local hangout as most people seemed to know each other. The service was rather slow but the bartender seemed friendly. I recently quit drinking so I was surprised to find an offering of NA wine and the bartender told me they were planning to soon expand their NA beer selection. The bathrooms were clean but down a long winding hallway and the stalls had swing doors with no locks so we were more comfortable going to the bathroom together (as the crown was about 80% men). We had a great time and enjoyed our visit to Turner's! If back in Hatteras/Avon area, we will definitely go back for some live music, dancing and fun!

Absolutely love this place! Not much to do in Avon in the evening, so I'm glad we found this place. Bartenders are super friendly, very cool. It's this place where you feel like you've been there for ages. 100% recommend it for anyone looking for a place to kick back, listen to music, maybe play a little shuffleboard, and have a few drinks. You have a great choice to choose, and if you are not sure what to order just ask.

Great sushi there to boot in all places and live music. Friendly staff and only a good diving bar Chill and it is later opened than the rest of the bars in the area.
