We went into Twins for the second time ever this morning. Our first experience was so-so but Fiddlestix had a long wait so we decided to try it once again.The waitress came to our table and asked for our drink orders, at which point she informed us that a glass of water costs $2. The reasoning she gave me for charging $2 for a glass of water is that their water is filtered . I have never heard this before in my life, and if you are charging me $2 for water it should come in a bottle. The food came out quickly, but it seems like they use a lot of oil in their cooking. Awful experience all around. Food was no better than mediocre. We were sat outside in direct sunlight (we did not choose the table), and when we started overheating we asked to move to a shaded table. We were told we couldn’t move to the empty table next to us because they were busy and it wouldn’t be fair to other customers. The table remained open for the next 20 minutes while we burned in the sun. We ordered iced tea and the drinks came with so little ice that they were warm within minutes. When we then asked for water they mention that they charge for water. It felt like a joke they trapped us in the sun then extorted us to pay for water. My husband didn’t like his breakfast and he told the waitress. The waitress offered him a to go container. Who offers a to go container when you don’t like the food? Then she refused to take the plate away. She never even asked if he would want anything else. The owner was like well that’s the way we make it here. If you own a restaurant you should know how to run it. I’m reading the reviews about charging for water. That’s ridiculous!!! Even if it is filtered. I did see the sign about no outside drinks or water bottles. They should put a sign on the door that they charge for water. The food was pretty good and the service was pretty attentive and on point, which is why I'm giving it 2 stars. Unfortunately, I will NEVER ever recommend this place due to the the male owner, Frank, I believe is his name who was exceedingly and unnecessarily RUDE. Honestly, if it wasn't for my lovely partner's insistence I would've walked out happily. Making a customer feel comfortable and relaxed while they have a meal at your restaurant should be of the highest priority, without question. HE single handedly put me in a foul mood and I've no interest of ever setting foot in this place EVER again! Surcharge for water is an insult. they claim it’s due to costs of them “serving” the water and use of their cups, etc. surcharge for using a credit card as well. the owner is NOT polite or kind. Common courtesy is not given (although maybe for another surcharge politeness might be offered).. Food is very average and as a CELAC person, this establishment is not allergy friendly. A LOT of Cross contamination and although they have “GF” French toast, no effort is made to keep things separate.
The owner was a complete asshole because they don't have tap water and you have to buy bottled water. We were still going to eat there until he was completely aggressive towards us for wanting to bring in a reusable water bottle. he came at us immediately with a huge attitude. the water wasn't even a huge issue but the aggression was insane for an owner so definitely don't recommend
Delicious ? great brunch spot seated us right away at 1pm when Fiddlesticks had a 45min wait. The place filled up after 1:30pm. Fouble trouble was the perfect hungry man breakfast meal great withe the diner coffee, taking you on an adventure from the eggs and sausages on top as you work down to the mixed berry pancakes below.
