This restaurant offers unique vegan donuts at a popular spot in Somerville. They typically have 2-3 vegan flavors available, which change every couple of weeks. I would love to see more of the exciting non-vegan flavors transformed into vegan options, but Union Square Donuts is still a fantastic choice for both vegans and their non-vegan friends! Plus, the coffee is great too! This is an updated review from August 29, 2021.
Dropped by around 11:45 on a Sunday to try their vegan donuts and unfortunately they were all out of donuts, but I got their cinnamon sugar donut holes which were amazing!! Great spongy texture and wonderful donut-y flavor. I got 12 for about $4, and it was definitely a purchase I'll make again. Hoping to stop by earlier in the day to try some of their vegan donuts next time.
The menu doesn't offer many choices, typically only 3 to 4 options. However, they do have a wonderfully fried donut, unlike the dry ones you find at many other places. I tried the berry-filled one and the cinnamon sugar variety, and both were absolutely delicious!
BEST DONUTS EVER. If you’re in the area, you must stop by. I’ve been craving donuts for so long and these really hit the spot. I got 4 different kinds- the apple spice, pumpkin spice, cinnamon sugar, and Belgian dark chocolate. I was very happy with all of them Réservez une table maintenant
Had a selection of three vegan donuts (Cinnamon Sugar, Dark Chocolate, Pumpkin Spice) which looked as good as their regular donuts! A little expensive for the quality of the donuts, but still very satisfying.
The vegan donuts are delicious and taste just like regular ones; however, they only offer a limited selection (2-3 flavors), and the best ones tend to sell out quickly.
I had the blackberry lime frosted donut and it was the best vegan donut I’ve ever had. They make three vegan donuts a day and this was the only one left. I was glad!
I tried both the cinnamon sugar and the Belgian chocolate doughnut and both were amazing. If you like sweets, check this place out. Réservez une table maintenant
You will not regret these doughnuts. The vegan flavors rotate, though they always have their melt-in-your-mouth cinnamon-sugar.
