"Waited half an hour for cold hard pancakes and a lukewarm full English. Recovered well with a refund and a very nice sandwich in exchange. The full English would have been good if hot as the ingredients tasted good. I’ll try the lunch menu if I go again."

Well that's the cafe totally ruined since being taken over..... Slow snail like service just for a sandwich, not a lot of choice to choose from, hunt for a children's menu even in half term, extremely overpriced considering lack of choice and slow service, this will be the last time, New owners you have killed what was a lovely place for lunch and breakfast Update... So after 45 minutes and then being told 3 orders in front of us, I asked for a refund. Whilst waiting for this refund there were 3 members of staff in front of me buying their own lunch, all part of the new company who has purchased Van Hague who couldn't care less when I tried to tell them the shambles they were creating, custo...

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. I ordered a brown multi seed roll with ham, salad, and beetroot piccalilli, but it was served with yellow piccalilli instead. When I asked about the missing beetroot, the chef claimed that the yellow piccalilli was supposed to have beetroot in it, which was not true. I was then given a baguette as a replacement, but it was also missing the seeds. The second sandwich, on a white stale baguette, had the same filling. Both sandwiches came with a side of salad, one of which was substituted with a few cold chips in a plant pot for an extra £2.50. There was no dressing on the salad. The total cost came to £28.60. Despite the recent renovati...

When we arrived it was fairly busy, but we love the restaurant in Spalding and thought we'd give it a go. When my partner queued for about 10 minutes, he was told that jacket potatoes would be an hr wait, so we decided on pannini. We waited over an hr to see endless jacket potatoes being served and others around us being served. My partner asked where ours was and told we're next. We waited another 15 mins and still no food and very cold cup of tea. I then queued for a refund whilst 2 cashiers chatted and the supervisor carried on serving drinks!! No apology just please come back. Don't think so....Dreadful! When I got back to the table the food arrived and the picture paints a thousand word...

What a great place to sit and have a coffee or something to eat, but what a weird way of serving people very expensive food and drinks? The service is slow and the food very expensive. At a time when people are struggling to make ends meet, this is an own goal by the owners. Exclusivity and premium pricing are only attractive if you can provide the quality of food and service that goes with it and they can’t. It’s just a very strange set up that I don’t think I’ve seen anywhere else. Coffee making is always a bottle neck, but they have more than one coffee station but rarely use more than one. It used to be such a great place to go. I’m priced out of going back. Réservez une table maintenant

I was also puzzled when asked how many people were at my table when ordering. When I specified that there were 2 adults and 2 children, the staff member sarcastically replied, "So, 4 people then?" When I mentioned that one child was only 4 months old, she sarcastically asked, "Will they be eating too?" This unnecessary exchange left me confused and questioning the quality of service at this establishment. The restaurant should improve both the quality of their food and their service, especially considering the high prices they charge. Quality should be a given, regardless of the price point.

Well what a massive let down. The prices they are charging now are ridiculous. £3.25 for a scone or a very small cup cake. It is a cafe in a garden centre Before covid you could get a really good meal and dessert for £7.00 each now for two people you are looking at £35 ish.for a main meal and a drink. We were frequent visitors but not anymore. When we visited today most people I saw were only having coffee. Prices are well and truly over the top. You could go to a proper restaurant and get a meal for less. Time will tell but I think you have shot yourself in the foot as they say

Good quality food and excellent friendly service in what was the Van Hage Garden Centre Cafe. Now called Blue Diamond, we enjoyed a really good quality breakfast. Generous portions of food with great quality sausages!! Yes it is more expensive than it used to be but the quality of ingredients is far superior and worth every penny. Also the service by the friendly staff was first class. Definitely a big improvement on the previous cafe and we will certainly go again. We recently popped in for coffee and cheese scones too… v tasty!

This used to be a favourite breakfast spot where you could have a nice breakfast before browsing Van Hage. But I guess it is under new management who have lost sight of the fact that people who eat here shop here. They have pushed prices through the roof but nothing changed about the dining experience to justify they new rip off prices. Avoid this place like the plague unless you have more money than sense. The restaurant was not crowded, but we were informed that there was a thirty-minute wait for our food, which we agreed to. However, we ended up waiting for over an hour. Other patrons were also complaining about the wait, and it was left to a waitress to clarify the situation. There was a lack of staff, and we were not impressed.
