The restaurant was very busy then the assistant manager Yuri kindly offer us another table outside.The atmosphere was amazing, the music is perfect for the location and it really gives the idea to be in italy. We had a beef carpaccio as a starter and then we tasted an authentic and perfectly prepared seafood platter with real fresh seafood and some caviale tagliolini.It took a while to get them, but we were aware of it and it definitely worth it! After driving past this partially hidden restaurant in my decades of living in the local area, me and my family decided he had to give it a go; the in-laws were coming up for a visit and we wanted to impress, and impress we did. Viale Canova has an elegant white theme and screams fine-dining at a glance, and while the food lives up to this first impression with it's awesome produce and perfectly balanced flavours, the food is served in generous portions and in a homie, rustic way. You get what you pay for.The waitstaff were fantastic. Every need was anticipated. Thanks guys, we all had an amazing night of unencumbered laughter and bonding and we'll all be back soon.
This is a little Italian gem on the north side camouflaged by the common-suburban-takeaway-restaurant look on the outside. I was shocked when I first look at the menu as it is very expensive for a suburban restaurant, however, the elegant decor, huge serving tasty homemade pasta & great attentive service really match the price tag! Having said that, it is quite weird that a bottle of reasonably good quality wine there is actually cheaper than a mains.
We met here with friends for dinner. I cannot fault anything. The service was very good and the meals were excellent. Good sized servings. BYO was a bonus. The meals are certainly not cheap at approx. $80 a head for 3 courses, and they were the cheaper items on the menu. This fine dining restaurant would be a "special occasion " place to dine. We enjoyed our night here. The six of us all had different meals and everyone loved the flavours of their meal.

We were disappointed - the food was overly salted and parmesan cheese was grated over our clothes rather than on the plate itself. Not pleasant to dine out and pay so much for bad service. The food was only just okay....definitely not the best Italian restaurant we have been too. There are better Italian restaurants in Brisbane! The panna cotta looked like it was made with food colouring and was flat!! Not happy at all.
Had a great dinner at this restaurant. Freshly made pasta, great mussels and lovely flavour. Wine list is not huge but some nice Italian wines on offer White tablecloths and friendly service. We had been searching for a good one and we found it. Well...done
I've been here a few times with the family. The service is always very comprehensive and the food is lovely and authentic. There isn't a lot of choice on the menu but everything I've eaten here has been good.
Good good Italian from authentic Italians. Odd fitout and the presentation isn't amazing but damn the food is good. Would come back again, but it is a tad steep.
