We moved to New West almost a year ago and realized a few months ago that we kept going back to our old neighbourhood in Burnaby for dinner. We have been going out every Thursday for dinner in New West to get to know our new city. A different cuisine every week. This place is only a few blocks from our home so we walked up there last Thursday night. It is very small so seating only for about a dozen people. They were full. So we told him we lived close and he took our phone number and said he would call us when there was a table almost ready. We walked down the block and had a beer at the Thirsty Duck pub and before we were done he called. By the time we got back there were about 3 groups of people standing on the street drinking tea waiting for tables but we had made a reservation earlier so we were seated first. I couldn't believe all the complimentary food. Tea, a bread with a plate with 4 different dips that were all very tasty. Then a salad with a really tasty salad dressing that was quite different. Then I ordered a dish with half beef, half chicken with rice. I asked for no onions. My husband ordered a dish that was like a big pita bread with meat and vegetables on it. They brought his (which he said was wonderful) and told me mine would just be a few minutes because they had put onions in it by mistake so were remaking it. It didn't take long and I was pleased that they caught the error. The host/server/guy in charge was wonderful and has a great sense of humor. All in all, a wonderful experience and great food. And our bill was less than $35.00 Truly a gem.
