"We enjoyed this little find so much. They've turned the alley into a lovely little patio. The food is fragrant and flavourful. The salad was the best we've ever had. We did mention the need for napkins but licking our fingers was ok too! They're new so ... growing pains. We'll be back"

We moved to New West almost a year ago and realized a few months ago that we kept going back to our old neighbourhood in Burnaby for dinner. We have been going out every Thursday for dinner in New West to get to know our new city. A different cuisine every week. This place is only a few blocks from our home so we walked up there last Thursday night. It is very small so seating only for about a dozen people. They were full. So we told him we lived close and he took our phone number and said he would call us when there was a table almost ready. We walked down the block and had a beer at the Thirsty Duck pub and before we were done he called. By the time we got back there were about 3 groups of people standing on the street drinking tea waiting for tables but we had made a reservation earlier so we were seated first. I couldn't believe all the complimentary food. Tea, a bread with a plate with 4 different dips that were all very tasty. Then a salad with a really tasty salad dressing that was quite different. Then I ordered a dish with half beef, half chicken with rice. I asked for no onions. My husband ordered a dish that was like a big pita bread with meat and vegetables on it. They brought his (which he said was wonderful) and told me mine would just be a few minutes because they had put onions in it by mistake so were remaking it. It didn't take long and I was pleased that they caught the error. The host/server/guy in charge was wonderful and has a great sense of humor. All in all, a wonderful experience and great food. And our bill was less than $35.00 Truly a gem.

We went around 5:30pm on a Thursday and it was starting to fill up and sat outside on the side patio. The inside had room and was warm and cozy feeling. We order Man oushe Makanek however was given Lahmajoun, It was very good but when we got the bill I asked the difference and she said the Makanek is more spicy which we will order next time for sure. We also order Kafto rice bowl which was very good too, When you order the Kafta you also get a salad that we really liked and then the four dips with naan bread. The bread is large and the dips had great flavor. We had alot of leftovers to take home as we were full. The food is fresh and lots of it. We also ordered the yogurt milk drink which is definitely yogurt and good after the second sip as it takes a bit to get use to but really good on your stomach. We ended our meal with the house tea which is excellent and would order again. We really liked this place and would return. The young man and the lady that was serving were excellent.

We sat outside on the side of the building. It was shady and cooler than inside the restaurant. The food was startling good. We had three dishes. One was pita with Lebanonese sausage and salad on top. Then fresh baked pita arrived with a toss salad. Fresh. Interesting flavors. A dish accompanied the bread and it had four different dips. Each was an explosion of flavors. We also ordered a pot of chicken and beef, rice and veggies. A very healthy meal. They do not serve any beer or wine. We didn't miss it though. The food was that good. We washed everything down with hot tea. Yummy. It is a very small restaurant. If you plan to go during busy hours, make a reservation.

I really really want to give a shout out to Wild Thyme in New Westminster. If you're in New West and you're hungry, go there. I love to eat out and I do it quite a bit, and I think that was definitely on the top as one of the best restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Have the bowl - a treat at $16, but it is an experience to not be missed. Trust me - you might get so excited you'll mistakenly eat your fingers. Thank you Wild Thyme, I will be back. Many times.
