This place is such a gem. Amazing food, amazing staff, cute decor, great pricing. I can’t say enough good things. I thoroughly and genuinely enjoyed every single item on my plate and had leftovers to enjoy the next day. Our server was so nice and told us he is from Greece and so are the owners. You can taste this in the air and the food. Greek music in the background, Greek decor, Greek food and a vegan menu!!! I took my girlfriend here for our weekly date night, and while I've had takeout and delivery from here before, I have never actually sat in at Yiamas, and I cannot say enough good things. From the moment we walked in the door, the entire experience was wonderful. We had excellent service and appreciated the little placard you can turn when you're ready to order — a nice touch! However, I’m puzzled by the positive food reviews; everything we tried was quite mediocre given the prices. Each dish seemed to lack that special something that makes it truly delicious, and the ingredients didn't appear to be fresh. I've enjoyed some fantastic Greek cuisine at other restaurants, and I can honestly say I prepare better Greek dishes at home. I absolutely loved the vegan stuffed eggplant. Yiama’s is worth the hype for their vegan menu items. I’m visiting from the US and I’m so glad I decided to try this place. I had an incredible vegan dinner and absolutely loved that the restaurant offers a separate vegan menu! If you find yourself in the Comox Valley, this place is a must-visit. They also have vegetarian options available, but the focus here is definitely on the fantastic vegan choices!
We had lamb souvlaki, and Spanakopita dinners. Both were delicious and very large portions. And yummy baclava !! The staff were very nice , and had nice Greek music playing. All in all we had a wonderful dinner and will definitely be back when we are in Courtenay next year.
