My son recently discovered this pub and loved the Sunday lunch so much that we decided to visit as a family this past Sunday. The host was welcoming and helpful, and the dining area was recently refurbished and very comfortable. There were four meat options available, and we tried three of them which were all equally delicious. In addition to the meats, there were five fresh vegetables, crispy roast potatoes, and a Yorkshire pudding. Everything was freshly cooked and served hot. Even my six-year-old granddaughter enjoyed her child's dinner, which was a generous portion. I highly recommend this place for a tasty Sunday dinner at a great price.
Continues to be my local, continually changing guest ale. Always a surprise to see what's coming on next and now with the Cask Marque accreditation, you know it's gonna be good. You need a good ale to watch the excellent bands at weekends too. Make sure you have a real, freshly home cooked lunch when you're in there Mondays to Saturdays to soak up the ale. I've put it under the category of cheap eats but don't let that put you off, more like a real bargain I'd say. Don't worry lager drinkers, you're well catered for ok, at least four to choose from.
Had a two course lunch here today, mushrooms with a garlic dip followed by a homemade mince beef and onion pie, new potatoes and veg. Piping hot as usual, great value for money, both courses served with a genuine smile. Try it, you won't be disappointed. Ok, the beer I wanted wasn't on but hey, another beer filled the gap nicely. Great and lively conversation with the locals, well, it is a locals pub after all. Don't let that put you off though, everyone is made welcome.
It seems that this restaurant is struggling due to competition from the bigger Spoons across the road. When we visited, it was very quiet with only two locals trying to keep the business going. The beer was good and the staff were friendly, but by the time we left for the other restaurant around 9:30, this place seemed closed. It is likely more lively when there is music playing, but with two more pubs nearby, you worry about the future of this place.

Wow! Stunning. Ypres has had a makeover and I love it. Went here for drinks last Saturday night and it was brilliant. Staff are friendly and welcoming, atmosphere was great and everyone had a brilliant evening. Drinks are usual prices, cocktails look amazing...although I didn't try one (gives me a reason to return). I believe the owner is looking at putting on some events in the near future so worth a look out! Highly recommend!
We joined friends here for lunch. Good varied home cooking menu. The food is ordered at the bar. We received very good service throughout our visit. Try the Gypsy tart ! The food was well cooked and all of our plates were cleared. Good full bar with proper beer on the pump. We shall return.
Went for a drink down sittingbourne high street while shopping. Went past a couple of pubs including wetherspoons heard a band playing and popped into the Ypres tavern. Best move I could have made great live music great bar staff really enjoyed the evening. Will definitely go back again
The food was of high quality and the staff were polite. Although the service was a bit slow, our drinks were consistently topped up. There were no problems with the food or service. It was a quiet day overall, but still enjoyable.

Attended Jam Night tonight. Absolutely brilliant. Musical talent in abundance. Great beer. Fab atmostphere. Landlord top notch especially when dealing with an extremely rude and disrespectful drunk old female trollop!
The Ypres continues to dish up good home made and home cooked food. Had a rather delish steak in Guinness pudding recently. Rather moreish.
