"Nice garden and parking places for free. Typical Austrian specialties. The Wienerschnitzel is average and the wine is expensive and not good at all. Service would gain in more friendly waiters."

The other day we went for a family lunch to this restaurant. Unfortunately the weather was not so good, that is why we chose indoor seating. One of the biggest assets of this place is its huge and beautiful garden. The food was OK, not great, ordinary fare, nothing special. Service was good, but, ... yes, but since I had order the daily menu, which included soup, I expected to be served soup first. When the waitress arrived with the main courses, I inquired about my soup, and her comment was: "Oh, you soup was not served." No apology, nothing. When we paid, the wanted to charge for the soup as well. Not really great customer service!

You need to book a table as this place is very popular the whole year round but the meals are expensive for what you get with prices inflated to about 50% above average prices. Excellent local drinks so the apple juice is excellent cloudy and not from a packet. Very little in the way for vegetarians but my friend had the pumpkin schnitzel which he said was very good. My potatoes were hard and not properly cooked through. I ate the food but did not enjoy my cordon bleu. Our table was by a pillar and it was very difficult and cramped to eat. This table was only suitable for a single person and not for two people.

Came here for dinner our first night in Linz. Shared a wonderful meat sampler platter with bacon-wrapped sausage, chicken and pork with fries and a cold beer. Plenty for the two of us. Service was good (English menu available) and the traditional garden is lovely!

The real traditional local food. Very straightforward in a big garden. Blood sausage, dumplings in chantarelles ragout, schnitzel. Everything fist class. Just don't take the fries. They are not home made.
