After being on the waiting list for over a year, my excitement grew as I read dozens of reviews online about this restaurant. Finally, I made the 22-mile journey to Belleville's inner city for their Sunday midday buffet, priced at $12.99 and running from 11am to 3pm each week. The food was excellent and delicious, served in a beautifully decorated interior with a large wrap-around bar and an outdoor terrace. The restaurant had a New Orleans style décor with a large alligator on the roof and even on the waitstaff's aprons. Okay Experience. Ordered Catfish dinner which was pretty good. The portions where awesome. However coleslaw comes with it along with a side of your choice. I asked if I could substitute the Cole slaw which I do eat for another side since it is listed on the side menu and I was told no. I told the young lady since I couldn't substitute it that I didn't want it. No form of compensation not only that no tarter sauce or hot sauce was in my carry out bag. It's the small things that count!!!
I can't believe I hadn't discovered this restaurant sooner! It was a fantastic find that exceeded my expectations. I tried the Cajun alligator as an appetizer and it was even better than the alligator I had in Florida. The catfish tacos were amazing, and the poutine darts were delicious. My friend enjoyed the shrimp plate as well. This place is definitely worth a visit, even for those driving through the city of B-ville. You'll definitely get a kick out of dining here.
BBQ ribs. Not impressed, not much flavor to start. I don't think they ever touched a grill and the sauce was bland. Server was forgetful however she did let us know that she had just started working there again. I wouldn't recommend and we won't be returning.

I have been coming to Bayou since 2000! While there have been changes in management over the years, the food has consistently been delicious and the service is top-notch!
eating was amazing! I would definitely come back. only complained was our salat legally frozen, but it was replaced by a very tasty caesar salat. great food, great staff.
the Mother's Day is not a fair day when we can judge the restaurant any, but this is the day we tried this Crêole Café and we were impressed. my wife had it.
the lobster ravioli is quite good in that. this time it wasn't so good. She gets it all the time. the waitress took it back and my friend did it.

The staff are great! The steak is great. We didn't like the stuff mushrooms much but the manager was kind enough to substitute them.
