My wife and I went on a date night here and we were highly impressed with the overall restaurant! We love the location of the restaurant it was easy to find parking and they have valet as well. First impressions we were like wow this is pretty nice in the heart of Norfolk in the Granby ST area. This area gives of a nice big city vibe like you would find in NY or DC. They have a nice lighting so it is romantic and yes it is a great place for a fancy night out to dress up and to do a date night. Attire is a must here so a nice button up shirt and looking nice is a thing here they do mention at the door that is a requirement so no shorts or T shirts. Our dinner was quite nice at the steak house. And true enough, we ordered steak. They had an amazing collection of wines that pair quite well with the steaks. We ordered the shrimp appetizer, and they were kind enough to have 4 on the plate instead of 3 pieces. I guess my only grouse, had I to find one, they didn't leave a bread basket on the table and I had to keep asking for it, but the bread was just amazing! Wow! The dry aged ribeye with the borderlaise was to die for. It had such an amazing flavor and was the most tender steak I've ever had. The waiter was very nice and super knowledgeable, he wasn't snobbish at all like some waiters at fine dining restaurants can be. While yes it is expensive I think it's well worth it for a special occasion. Overall the meal was exquisite. I have no complaints and can't wait until I go back.
My fiancé and I went to Byrd Baldwin for his birthday dinner and we were absolutely blown away. Everything from the ambiance to service to food was the best experiences we've had of fine dining we've had in the Hampton Roads area.
