It 's never bothered me much because baytown is short on soul food places. However, today was the straw that broke the camel 's back. I will NEVER visit again nor recommend this place. We tried to call in an order because we know how the wait is. We kept being put on lengthy holds and having the phone hang up on us so we decided to just go eat there. We seated ourselves and waited 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order. Another customer, who arrived at the same time and ordered the same dish as I did, was informed of a 25-minute wait, just like me. After an hour had passed, an employee finally came out to let us know that our food was almost ready, but unfortunately, my wife's order couldn't be fulfilled because they had run out of that dish. At that point, we decided to leave. The employee tried to defend the restaurant by saying they had warned us there would be a wait. Awesomeness!! As soon as we saw soul food , we had to try this place! Best fried catfish, shrimp, okra, meatloaf, cabbage, broccoli rice casserole ever!! Wish it wasn 't so far from home. The portions were huge, so we didn 't have room for the banana pudding we ordered, but we have faith it will be great as well when we 're hungry again. Service excellent, very reasonable pricing. Don 't change a thing. We 'll definitely be back when we 're in the area again. Just yum!
I can't praise this restaurant enough! The staff is friendly, the portion sizes are generous, and the food is absolutely delicious. I ordered the oxtails, greens, and cornbread dressing, and everything was fantastic. You can really tell that this food is made with love. For dessert, I had the banana pudding, which I intended to savor over two days, but I ended up finishing it all in one sitting—no regrets there! I'll definitely be returning!

We had been eager to try this restaurant, and it certainly met our expectations. I ordered the seafood gumbo, while my girlfriend went for the chicken fried chicken. Both dishes were served in generous portions. The gumbo was rich and flavorful; I didn’t feel the need to add anything to it. We hope the Baytown location opens up soon!
Awesome soul food. Ox Tails are done right and the fried chicken is amazing! Don't forget the sides. The yams, Greens, Mac&cheese, and the house standard, rice and spicy brown gravy!
This place is a little off the beaten path. Parking lot was muddy, as it is not paved. The food is good, but service is real slow. Sides are small, and it's overpriced.
Haven't eaten much on the menu, but the food is great. Looking forward to my next visit. Peach cobbler was outstanding. Great place. I'll be back.

My go to spot every time I'm on that side of town for work. Today I'm having the meatloaf. I've had the fish before too. Everything is awesome!
Service is slow but it's worth the wait. Staff friendly Music and food takes me back to home on the back porch at my grandparents house
