We went in and were two people and stood to be seated as per the sign. There were only two other tables occupied in the restaurant. We were shown to a table and I said hello to the waiter, he looked at me blankly and said what? I said hello He looked shocked but replied with a hello We ordered the $76 peking duck special Wasnt special Pancakes and Sang Chow bow No rice no soup or any thing else that we are use to with Peking duck special Nomally they make a few dishes out of a whole duck I noticed the other tables had tea and were given sauce etc We got up and got our own Duck pancakes has spring onions that were so large they were uncomfortable to eat Service was very poor and then non exsi...
Decided to try the roast duck. Went into the restaurant and it was not crowded. But still decided to give it a try as that was my second time walking in. The roast duck was disappointing not flavourful as one expects of HK roasts. And tough. The porridge was also not great the only saving grace was the fried dough sticks thAt was recommended. And the meal did not come cheap…for this quality. Would like to try other places.
We have been coming here for years and the food has always been great. The decor looks as if it hasn’t been changed in decades so don’t let that put you off. They do specialise in BBQ meats (just look at their front window) and you can get takeaway if you don’t want to eat in. The staff can seem a little stand offish but it is the food you come for. Give it a try as the food is great.
