very disappointed to say when we were sitting, we could not have the set menu that I had ordered over the phone when they book well in advance. First of all, I try to separate the service from the food I receive when I'm talking about restaurants. Even though the service plays into the atmosphere of the place, I can overlook minor flaws if chefs made an amazing dish. I had heard great things about this restaurant. but definitiw disappointed. I understand that waiting personnel can be affected during the covid (isolation and all), but it was as if the waiting personnel had never served tables. it took a few minutes after someone decided. to ask us for drinks. her style was confident and amateur and slow. I'd be in order if I didn't pay the prizes that are required in black. the brot was cold the scallops were small, over boiled and cold the steak was salty the brasilia was delicious. the beer glasses had markings and lipstick stains on them. the wee was beautiful. overall is walters steak house miles ahead and so is moo moos.

I have been hearing rave reviews about this restaurant since arriving in Brisbane. So finally went to check it out. To be honest I wasn’t blown away it was really all but okay. Which for the price point is disappointing. We ordered the tomahawk to...share but it was too fatty for me, the meat was delicious but a lot more chunks of fat then expected (this was not marbling but grissly chunks). I was also extremely disappointed to see we got pieces of potato as our accompaniment, it was almost more of a garnish then a side dish.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, steaks were tender and cooked just how we liked them and the red wine jus went perfectly with the steaks. The potatoes could’ve been cooked a bit longer, one of mine was slightly under cooked. One let down was witnessing...a waiter pick his nose and then continue to use the ipad/tablet with that finger. He then served us our meals a few moments later. Not quite what you want to be doing as a waiter, especially during the times of COVID.
Hands down my favourite steak I've had in Brisbane. Not a surprise give the previous list topper was from Gambaros. The likes of Moo Moos and Blackbird have bigger lists of sides, but the sides Black Hide do they do well. My Rib Eye was...perfectly cooked but the Eye Fillet was slightly underdone, not enough to warrant a return to the kitchen though.
Food was excellent! Service was second to none. Josh was our waiter- superb. This guy should get a promotion. Amazing night for my husband’s birthday. Thank you
