Jack Astros is one of my go-to places to eat down town st.johns! I've gone there for dates with my boyfriends, hung out with my girl friends there, spent family supper there, literally every occasion that needed a supper venue this was the place. Staff is very friendly, all the sayings on their shirts are so clever and funny! The people at the main/centre bar are very entertaining, trying tricks! Although it's very loud in there sometimes it is hard to talk to one-another. I love the space in the booths, you're not crammed up in a small space. Reluctantly went to another chain restaurant but was pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the food. The table and chairs were also very clean, wait staff were seen wiping down menus and seats which many places tend not to do. Ordered one of the fish bowl drinks thinking that it was going to be the size of a pint glass but it was basically a small fish bowl, funny pic taken with it in front of me. Overall good experience.
The staff is super friendly, place is large and even offers a deck to eat from on the nice days. It's a great place to drink as there is a nice central located bar. Prices are a little high and no Rib steak on the menu and no desert :( also no parking is a pain in the butt.
The food is great and the servers are very attentive. Love this place, the only caution I would have is that it has a very open loud atmosphere. If you are looking for quiet dining, this is not the place! We usually visit every time we r in town.

Back again after 3 years .Great buzz in bar ,staff very attentive,still throwing full beer glasses the length of the bar.Food is quite good .Had the burger and fries with a glass of wine ,tasted good .A lot of screens ,but it is a sports bar .
Went down with a group of friends for a bite to eat and a few drinks. I ordered the ahi tuna sandwich and it was delicious. Only thing that was bad was my fries were cold Service was great and the server was very friendly
Good hamburgers. Nice view of ships on wharf. Good service. Still, after three weeks in Newfoundland, this looked like the typical place you find everywhere you travel with standard rock songs playing in the background.
Honestly would never support a chain restaurant in downtown st. john's but the new host, Kade, is the most lovely and friendly person that has ever greeted me and I will definitely be back.

Situé au centre-ville, dans le Port. Très bonne ambiance. Restaurant style entrepôt. Beaucoup de télés murales. Serveuses accueillantes et sexy. Très bons burgers et frites.
