Joanie’s is a gem. Their cauliflower crust pizza is wonderful and has the same flavor and texture as regular pizza dough. They also have great options if you prefer thicker crust so there is something for every pizza preference. While the food is great, the service is even better. Tina was very attentive and constantly checked in to make sure everything was okay. Scott did the same. Everyone from the host and wait staff to the manager is very friendly and accommodating. It’s rare to get this level of service anymore and with the great location and food, it’s an all-around win.
The fried chicken and cheese curds at this restaurant are fantastic! The breading on the fried food is light and airy, making it delicious. I was impressed that there was no excess oil. I tried the BBQ Chicken Pizza on Hand Tossed dough and it was delicious. They offer four different sizes for almost every pizza, and they have a wide variety to choose from. The restaurant got busy during my visit, so it took a bit longer for the waitress to come back around, but she was wonderful. Overall, it's a great place for families.
Me and my husband went for dinner and in an hour and 20 minutes we only got 2 glasses of water. They never took our order, never asked us if we need anything. After one hour I went to ask how come nobody is coming by to take our order. We got a smiley face and: “We got very busy.. so sorry”. 20 minutes later nobody came by to ask even if we need a drink. We decided it was not worth wasting our time anymore and we left. Maybe the food is good.. I wouldn’t know… but the service it’s an insult.
Came here during the busiest possible time (Strawberry festival) and even then me and the family were provided with the utmost respect Service. Great outdoor seating area overseeing the ponds. Staff is very friendly and even though the restaurant had a limited menu during our visit the food was great and brought to our table in a timely manner. Will definitely recommend and will definitely be visiting back. Overall a great place to visit if you are in the area. Réservez une table maintenant
My friend and I enjoyed a delightful early dinner on the patio tonight. We had heard great things about their chicken and Detroit pizza, so we decided to try both and were not disappointed. The food was delicious, Tina provided excellent service, and the owner even came by to introduce himself and check on us without interrupting our conversation. It was a wonderful evening and we look forward to coming back again.
Had a good time at Joanie's last night. Just Pizza and drinks at the bar. Their pizza is really good. We had the thin crust, but some people we met at the bar were raving about the deep dish and it looked pretty good. The staff was great and interactive. Particularly Vicki and Scott. If you haven't spent time in Downtown Long Grove in a while there is a lot taking shape, you should give it a try. Thanks
Definitely feeling the change in ownership. Not enough staff, so a very slow-not so great experience.. Change in salads that used to be awesome, will not order again. Detroit pizza was delicious as usual. Felt sorry for the nice waitresses that were overwhelmed with not enough help. May not return. Sad that it was such a bad experience for our family that always looked forward to dining at Joanie's.
This restaurant is fantastic with amazing food. Our server Christina was also fantastic and very friendly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. I ordered the chicken and it was perfect. They never answer their phones. Every time I have tried to order take out, no one ever picks up. On the plus side, Detroit style pizza is amazing. Drinks are subpar. A bit pricey for the pizzas but they are very good. Thin crust was good but nothing beats Detroit style.
