I visited today to celebrate my birthday, and I have to say, the food at this restaurant far exceeds that of any upscale, expensive venue. While I know that some places prioritize quality over quantity, this restaurant manages to provide both: top-notch food in generous portions at very reasonable prices. I've been to restaurants where the dishes are overpriced and lack real Mexican flavors, but here, I genuinely feel at home. It's surprising how such a small establishment can serve such amazing food!

Having grown up in Southern California and with my husband hailing from New Mexico, as well as having lived in Texas, I can confidently say that this restaurant serves incredible, straightforward Mexican food. All of the sauces are outstanding, particularly the mole, and the breakfast selection is amazing. The staff is also very welcoming!

I’ve been going to La Fondita for tacos for years, and the food is consistently reliable and delicious. The tacos, including steak, al pastor, and spicy pork, are always flavorful and reasonably priced. The quesadilla, with its crispy fried shell, is also quite delightful.
The soups are exceptional, and the tostadas are fantastic. The salsas and tortillas are great as well. It’s a charming little restaurant that has a thriving takeout business. In my view, this is the best Mexican restaurant in Hyattsville.
