We stopped in for dinner after a very long all day hike. Staff were very friendly, even to the not-so-friendly teenager in the family beside us. Great to see staff with patience and who pay close attention to their guests. I got fish and chips. Sooooo good. Definitely 100% homemade. Badder was perfectly crispy and delicious. Fries and coleslaw were great too. Pretty sure even the tartar sauce may have been home made. Great dill flavour. My husband and my father in law both got different burgers. So...when you order a steak medium rare it should arrive medium rare throughout. Well, mine did not and I politely asked our server to replace it. The server returns with the same steak cut in half and says the chef says it is medium rare in the middle and asks if I would like to accept this steak. Politely I point out that the rest of the steak is clearly overcooked. Back to the kitchen it goes. The chef then comes out with the same steak and says hey buddy....this steak is medium rare . Good Caesar salad, good pasta dishes and good menu selection in a very cottage like environment. I like their blackened Pickerel and sweet potato fries. 4 stars because my husband thinks they are too pricey for what it is but he likes everything we have tried there too. It is not fine dining but it is consistently good food with lots of menu choices. Alcoholic drinks are good too and my husband is very fussy about his ****** Caesars.
Best Place To Eat In Orillia! Amazing Decor. Clean. Friendly Staff. Great Service, AND The Food Is Delicious!! Good quality, big portions, and lots of Flavour. Downside: Huge menu that is organized in a fashion that is beyond comprehension (not really, but it is confusing as their sections make no sense: one section called Mouth Watering Favorites and another called Cottage Cravings . It has gone uphill. Great food, friendly staff. Only drink we get is the pink lemonade and I liked the one they had before but, they went down and then they bounced back so, I really can't complain. Love their quesadilla and Lake Country Bruschetta. No matter what we've ordered, it's rare we've been disappointed. Every restaurant has bumps in the road and I'm happy they've come back!
Good service. Was looking for a new place in Orillia and this place came up. Ordered a glass of Cab but they were out of that brand. They brought a substitute but I did not care for and they cheerfully replaced it with a much nicer Merlot. Had the ribs with potatoes and fresh veggies. Fall off the bone tender. Would love to come back for wine down Wednesday and Sunday dinner buffet!
Service was good overall. The shrimp pasta was mediocre and something one can easily through together at home, overall pretty oily. The steak sandwich was good and the steak is actually one piece of meat and not like shaved overcooked meat. upgraded to poutine which was good as well.
