This club will send aggressive roid-raged security guards after you and chase you down the street. This video is filmed over 10 metres from the entrance as I tried to leave while the bouncer is threatening to chase me after I left the venue volunteerarily. Anyone who's worked in hospitality knows that aggressive, snowflake bouncers aren't a solution! Especially when they're built like a sausage McMuffin. How's he even gonna catch me?? We DO NOT have to put up with unprofessional venues that escalate to violence instead of being professional enough to convey their decisions amicably. If you appreciate live music within the context of a cool, cleverly and quirky decorated venue with great beverages and bar favourites, then you must visit, it is easy to see how this may become your chosen place to wind down after a hectic day or week at work. There is a cover charge to come in which definitely helps with filtering clientele. Two levels of really cool areas to chill, listening to a regular stream of visiting performers. Pretty stoked at being invited to watch a friend play live here. Didn't know it existed. Single door entry on the road expands into 2 levels much like a rabbit warren. Downstairs there was 3 guys playing jazz. Old timers, but mesmerising dudes none the less. Upstairs had 3 bands on, starting around 830. $15 entry on Sat night which was well worth it. We were told there was live music every night of the week. Place holds 150 so quiet small but has great ambiance. The fit out is really cool, the bar looks amazing, and the staff friendly. Wine and beer is reasonably priced, but $21 for a cocktail is ridiculous. definitely be back. Shame the Marrickville pork roll place want opening afterwards.
I’ve never had venue staff so utterly ruin a great night. Incredibly rude and discriminatory. Basically bullies. Here’s hoping for a full staff overhaul omfg. The bar manager asked me to have a water (about 20 of us had come from a 40th) which I did. She acknowledged that I had done that and chilled with my friends and I could order a last drink for myself and a friend. Then the barman refused. Very confusing, I wasn't intoxicated. Matt Keegans jazz was great! Would love to see him again. His show was on level one, so a bit smaller than the larger venue on level two but it wasn't too crowded and was still a great vibe. The food was a good price but there was a slight wait cause it was busy and drinks were great. All the staff were super nice, overall a really chill vibey environment. Price per person: A$20–40
This is a hidden gem in Sydney. Great live bands with a DJ kicking on around midnight when the bands are finished. Lots of lounge chairs, great mix of people and you are guaranteed a fun night out. Not sure about the food, I only went there to meet friends, listen to the band and have a few drinks. I'll be certainly back again soon...
