Arrived before 12 for a quick bite to eat, we ordered a salad and a blat sandwich. Nearly 40 minutes later the salad is bought out and the waitress explains that our order was being pushed back (why would you push an order back!!!). She said she would see how far along our sandwich was. I told her we had a show at 1 so if it wasnt ready we dont want it. She went and checked and came back to say that all their "Blat's" had sold out. Great...not! A menu was bought out for us to chose something else. I said not to bother as we didnt have time. Wonderful little (well, not really so little) coffee shop & bar. Excellent service and attention, even from the new staff member. Ok, so he didn't know everything about the menu yet, but he sure tried and was very pleasant. A more experienced waiter came to the rescue. Lunch fare is ok and priced alright, although in comparison, the drinks are a bit expensive. $10 for glass of bubbly isn't that expensive for the location, but perhaps some options in the $8 range would be welcome. The only other little annoyance was the noise. It's not surprising as there are no soft furnishings and nothing on the walls to muffle the sound. Ate here prior to seeing a show at QPAC. The waiter was aware of show timings and asked if we were attending as it was due to start about an hour after we walked in, very friendly and attentive service. We had the fish of the day (barra) and the steak, both meals were delicious and would recommend. Was offered complimentary parking though we did not need it. On paying our bill we were offered a couple of lovely desserts from the cabinet (on the house) to take with us for intermission. Great food and service, we'll be back!
We had enjoyed a meal here many years ago, so decided to try it again. We were not disappointed. The battered cod and chips with a yummy unusual coleslaw was very good. Our guest had ricotta and spinach malfatti which looked fantastic and she said it was. The only downside was we ordered beers and unusually they didn't come out straight away. When our meals arrived, we asked where our beers were and they looked surprised. We eventually got them!

Had dinner here pre-show. Fish and chips and steak sandwich. So, nothing too flash and the meals were that - nothing too flash - passable. Slow service unfortunately also. $20 for each meal seemed a tad high also, but I guess expected due to the venue. Fish was cod and had no flavor unfortunately, steak sandwich was slightly tough
Very disappointed with our pre-theatre lunch. After my 3rd choice because they had run out of some ingredients, I still didn't get what I had asked for......3rd time lucky "not". The food was very average and we had to constantly ask for service. Our party of 4 will not be returning to this venue.
We stopped in for a quick lunch and both of us ordered the chicken, bacon, and swiss cheese wrap. It was much bigger than either of us expected and was delicious. Probably the best lunch at the best price since we arrived in Brisbane last week.
I was there for a conference upstairs in the BCEC and had numerous coffees and breakfasts here over 3 days. Couldn't fault it. Better than good coffee served in quality cups. Good service. Not too noisy. Recommended.

We had breakfast here and it was good. Nothing special, but nothing to complain about either! They don't do poached eggs, which surprised me.
Handy to our accomadation with a good selection of food for breakfast. The waiter was very helpful and the service was very good.
