Paladar - South Brisbane. Walking between the Central Business District and West End the streches of road are usually very bland. Off the side a bit along one of the less main roads stands this small, yet distinct place stands out. For anyone wanting a quirky place to go to, some good coffee and charcter this deserves a try.
I have heard about the rooftop terrace and courtyard - but I got my order to go so I can only comment on the entrance part. The entrance area is small and very decorated with plenty of things to observe and look at, almost like a corner store would be like in Cuba.
On display are the various sweets and cigars you can have with or instead of a coffee.

meet fil; lenders of qualitatiw high quality plantage coffee and dealers of the best Cuban cigars. at the corner of the merivale st and fish lane, paladar is a bright splash of red in an otherwise beige stretch of the road. fil, the owner, is good in what he does and excellent firm to fit. its coffee is sturdy and strong; hot and beaten without being bitter. its small red cantina is as unique and quirky as fil itself, and they will do well to fall and check it at some point when they are in the opposite. they will not regret the experience. Note: paladar fumior salon is only cash (the nearest atm would be in the IGA complex near melbourne st.)

Meet Fil; purveyor of high quality plantation coffee and merchant of the finest Cuban cigars. On the corner of Merivale St and Fish Lane, Paladar is a bright splash of red in an otherwise beige stretch of road. Fil, the owner, is good at what he does and excellent company to match. His coffee is robust and strong; hot and punchy without being bitter. His little red cantina is as unique and quirky as Fil himself, and you'll do well to drop in and check it out sometime if you're in the area. You won't regret the experience. Drink, smoke and be merry. Feeling the need to be merry drives a man (generic term for both female and male)to seek solice in activities that allows him to feel like he has achieved something and yet nothing at the same time Coffee and Cigars is such an activity where entertainment is provided by those who participate. Such a place to tale tales of truth, intrigue and mostly **** for laughs I wish that this can be enjoyed late in the night and on weekends.
the best coffee in brisbane. we buy our coffee from felt in paladar fumior salon for 8 years and we will never stop. by 2 pregnant I drank the best hot chocolates in fils, now my children love them too. I rarely get a coffee from paladar, which is not the best coffee I had, and we drink every day his coffee in our home machine. paladar is great. the end.

Very unique. Friendly owner, unique in all bits of the place, a unique look-out on the roof top. Everything was so good other than coffee.
