Very disappointing experience. There has obviously been a change in management. We have been here a number of times and always been impressed with the fine dining and silver service. That's why we go back. This time the food was below standard, the kingfish was over cooked, the sides unimpressive. But it was the service that was the biggest let down. The staff were inattentive at best, they often went missing for long periods. They did not know the menu, we asked three times for water, they kept making excuses, like oh yes I saw you were finished but then I forgot to come over. After a visit to the fabulous wine room to select a few bottles, we asked the chef to prepare a menu for us.Our party of 10 enjoyed several dishes of fantastic food and we laughed the night away in relaxing and friendly surrounds.Top marks for food, service and setting.A great place to eat if you're staying at the nearby McLaren Vale Motel.
What a beautiful place. The open fire, the smell of nice food, candles and plenty of wood. Also, what a great idea to have a wine room rather than one of those wine lists, you walk along, read the labels and pick whatever takes your fancy. Glorious! Highly recommended!
With great food and a taste of the McLaren Vale wine area, the Barn is ideal for that lazy afternoon lunch or for a group sharing time together. We've had many meals here and have always had a good experience. Highly recommended!

The service was a bit chaotic however they were trying very hard. They kindly moved us out of a room with a large noisy group when we asked but then overcharged us for the wine we selected which we didn't notice at the time.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Fabulous meals with a huge range of wines to match. We would definitely recommend. Next time we are in SA will come again.
Nice lunch and menu. Limited selection of wines by the glass but you do have the option of purchasing a bottle from the cellar. Great Un-rushed service.
First since new owners took over and first time eating downstairs, lighting maybe a little bright but overall all excellent meal and service

Great really except mullet a little dry and lnear finish spraying and cleaning tables while diners nearby.
Great service, tasty food and a cosy location. Would definitely recommend.
