The Broken Paddle Coffee Roastery and Kitchen

My wife, a few friends, and I went to the restaurant the other day. My wife and I were the first to arrive and we requested a table for 6. We were shown where to sit. When the server approached us, there was no greeting, just a quick question about whether we wanted menus. We said yes, and she brought us two menus. When our friends arrived, they were not given menus. We ended up sharing. The service was very slow, so slow that we eventually had to ask another server who seemed more attentive to her tables for help. Thanks to her, we were able to finally get our drinks. My husband and I recently had brunch at this restaurant and I couldn't resist ordering the quiche when the waitress mentioned it. I have always loved quiche but find it difficult to find a good one. This quiche was amazing - fluffy and delicious crust. I opted for a side of greens with a simple dressing, which was fresh and tasty. My husband chose soup, salad, and a large piece of bread. He mentioned that the soup was thick and delicious. I have dined at this restaurant a few times before and have never been disappointed. The pizza, with its thin crust, was also quite tasty. The service was quick, efficient, and friendly.

We arrived at 5 miutes to noon for lunch. There appeared to be only one staff and we shortly realized that the restaurant was not prepared for lunch..Our mistake was ordering instead of leaving. The salad came with only half of the ingredients listed on the menu and the French Fries were cold. It was 50 minutes after we arrived. The hostess apologized, returned with a correct salad and offered a desert or discount. We received neither when the bill came. Our tip was minimal and it is unlikely we will return..

I was in Kenora for a few days from out of town. I always look for the local roastery wherever I travel - I'm pretty picky about my coffee. I love the quaint atmosphere and delicious coffee at this location. I went out of my way each day to drive there for my morning java and highly recommend it. Great, friendly staff too! The Broken Paddle is a must and 100% worth the 10 minute drive from Kenora. We had a late lunch, the service and food were amazing! We had 2 of the salads and the Broken Paddle pizza with the coffee crusted steak, all of it was to die for! Great food and beer, what more could you want?

Went in for breakfast, came out at lunch time. The server we had was looking after the till and making coffees up front and because of that. People that came after us got served an left before we even got our food. Keep her up front or as a server (NOT BOTH).

What a surprise, a great place to stop for excellent food. The salads are amazing but the pizza is a must, especially the coffee crusted steak pizza, give it a try. Also the locally brewed beer are a must.

This restaurant is a fantastic local night spot with a fun atmosphere, but it can get very crowded towards the end of the night. They offer a variety of live music options on Friday and Saturday nights. Réservez une table maintenant

Part of Brewers Inn in Kenora. Great food. Awesome service. Well worth stopping in for any meal. We enjoyed a light brunch.
