Campos Coffee, T2 Teas and friendly service make Under the Clock the best coffee/cafe in the Children's Hospital/Mater precinct.
The breakfast and lunch menus remain limited, but I've never had any issues with any of the snacks or light meals, which are consistently fresh and of good quality.
Today my colleagues and I enjoyed three Iced Lattes, which were served in small carafes and were overly generous.
I highly recommend Under the Clock.

Father and Daughter took G/daughter to Lady Cilento Hospital for Christmas arrival of Santa . Sadly she is no stranger to being there as a patient . We went across the street , easy access to the clock tower .. Dad was blown away by the genuine interior of the café . This place has; loads of atmosphere; he said , they serve great coffees , the banana bread was lovely and fresh ! He was most impressed , thanks again ...
This cafe has been on my hit list for quite sometime & today I actually got around to trying it. The coffee is Campos & I received a really robust flat white without even ordering a double shot. I loved the interior with it's retro ambiance & various old pics adorning the walls with regard to the history of the clock itself. Very sweet & pleasant service as well
Situated within easy reach of Southbank Station, Lady Cilento Children's Hospital and Sommerville House, this rather quaint, seemingly underground venue offers fantastic coffee, a small menu supported by delicious cabinet food, and great service.I enjoyed both croissants and a ricotta with spinach scroll on different occasions, in a busy, efficient and air conditioned cafe.

Under the clock is by far the best coffee around the Mater hospital. Today the card machine was not working, thus the staff advised me to come back later for the coffee. Wonderful to see such a belief in humanity. Surely such a service deserves support! In addition I enjoyed a great coffee and bagel! I'll continue to go back for a break.
A friend recommended this place and because we live 5 minutes walk away decided to take another friend. We were very surprised with the ambience. The food and coffee were delicious. We have been back again and no difference in service or food excellence. Only downer is apparently not open during to school holidays and Sundays.
Another good place we took our visitor to. The food was served immediately by an exceptionally friendly girl. Everything was delicious as usual. We were not rushed away even though it was a busy lunch hour. Lovely and relaxing with interesting history.
Across the road from Lady Cilento Children's Hospital. Great place to take a break from the hospital. We had smoked salmon quinoa salad which was light and tasty. Campos coffee. Fast service.

Great Campos coffee. Too great as the queue is intolerable sadly. I've had to go elsewhere to find a coffee. Not as good though. Food isn't inspiring though
