I really wanted to love this place. My first time here, the ambiance was quaint, it was pretty lo and they seated us close to others even though there were plenty of empty tables. I think there was only waitress working so maybe that was why. We ordered a bottle of merlot, the waitress brought over a bottle of cabernet franc, when I pointed it out to her she made up some crazy excuse that it was the same, I then pointed it out to her on the wine list, clearly they are different things. She then told us they were all out of merlot (across the board). Huh? Onto the food, we ordered the short rib dumplings, they were too sweet IMO. The beet salad was underdressed, I had the bronzino which was served to me skin side up, (I’ve never had filet served with the skin on), the portion was miniscule. My friend had a chicken Vesuvio special, it was tasty, but also on the small side. We had a slice of cheesecake a cappuccino. The bill was plus tip. It was very expensive for what we had, I was a little surprised. Also, I need to mention it took over from when we sat down to when we were served our entrees. I try to be understanding with the economy the way it is, however, if restaurants continue to overcharge and underserve, people will just eat at home.
