For people not from the bay, don't confused this place with Vons the supermarket. This is Korean fried chicken and it's legitimate. As with any fried chicken places, finding the perfect crunch without the dryness is the key to superiority and Vonshas nailed this. I ordered two half chicken (drumsticks) for two flavors and it was more than enough for two people. Thesearen't dinky winky drumsticks. Was craving crispy fried chicken and a friend recommended Vons. The downside to ordering online is not being able to really see the whole menu (my fault! and so we ordered garlic chicken. Turns out there?s another menu for crispy chicken so we ordered the wrong chicken ???? 3 stars bc the garlic chicken was meh. My go to place to get KFC (Korean fried chicken not Kentucky fried chicken.. in the area! Chicken is crunchy and flavorful. Even when I take it to go and eat it at home chicken is still crunchy! Chicken pieces are decently sized and are battered not too thick but with just the right amount and fried well that the exterior is nice and crispy while the meat is still moist and tender. My go-to spot for chicken wings! I usually get the soy glaze (spicy) and the chicken is usually pretty consistent! The skin is crunchy, the meat is juicy, the sauce is sweet (but not too sweet) and savory and spicy. If you want an extra kick, tryingordering just the sauce on its own but ask for it extra spicy. Service is really good and fast, though I?ve only ever had achance to do takeout.
The chicken at this restaurant was quite disappointing. It lacked flavor and was extremely burnt, making it unenjoyable. I ended up throwing it away. The only place I've found with good chicken is Sunny Vale's restaurant, Vons Chicken; however, their chicken is also quite tough because it seems to have been overcooked.
This Vons is the only Korean chicken place we recommend to our friends. Their chicken has such a good balance in between crispy and juicy. At home, we cook almost every single day because we don?t like restaurant foods but when we feel lazy, this Vons isthe food we order.
