Wenjie - Réservation de table

We were unable to travel on the ferry on a very stormy night and found ourselves in a motel needing supper but not wanting to be out in km winds and driving rain and looking for a restaurant in the vicinity. We phoned Wenjie...Chinese Restaurant and asked for delivery. I don't know if it was the regular delivery person or the owner, but a very nice woman came to our motel door with steaming hot food and even the deep fried items were still crisp on the outside. What we ordered was plentiful and we ended up taking half of it home with us on the next -day ferry. Just came back from a quick dinner with friends at Wenjie. The food was fine, not special, but very acceptable for the price style of restaurant. However, even though no one else was in the restaurant we had to go up to the counter...to order our wine and I had to call Wenjie over to tell her we would like to order. No one checked on whether our food was acceptable or whether we wanted anything else. I had to ask for salt and pepper. They had no more red wine so gave my husband ounces of white wine to make up the glass of red he’d ordered. If they don’t want customers then they should simply say they only offer take out. Not even poor service, simply no service.

We gave this a try as our ‘tried and true’ Bamboo Inn had changed hands and we weren’t overly pleased with the food. It was largely okay except for the Singapore Noodles. These are my absolute fave dish but these were dismal failure. There...was zero red pepper and they tasted as though they thru in a huge heap of curry powder at the last minute and mixed it together. Very dominant and overwhelming taste that totally ruined the dish. All you could taste was the curry.

Lack lustre meal , dishes were very salty and average servings with ingredients in the specialty items I ordered . Ordered wonton soup , special house chow menu , chop suey , and fried rice not much happening in the taste category on these ....Dried garlic pork was just that , deep fried to death and the deep fried prawns were coated baby shrimp . Spent on this and won’t return . !Bamboo inn in Comox by far beats this in flavour , serving freshness and price . Réservez une table maintenant

Service was take out , the food was absolutely the worst meal I’ve had in the comox valley . The chicken fried rice was Rice with soya poured on it pieces( strips) of chicken on top , chowmein was a pile of noodles no...bean sprouts at all , no flavour , Sweet sour pork was from a box I swear . This place would not last in any other place for more than a day . Don’t waste your money , make your own it will taste better .

We love Wenjie there food is very good , it’s very much a family run business with hubby the chef , Wenjie the waitress and order take and the children will help some times or they sit quietly in a living room off the side...of the restaurant, We prefer take away .

Simply put dreadful. Usually go to Bamboo Inn but on a tired out day, we tried this one as it’s closer and delivered. Bad decision. Definitely won’t re-order.

Love this place. Great food. Good prices and it’s never more than min wait for take out orders. Super nice family that runs the place. Réservez une table maintenant

The service people were so nice and but some of the customers were so rude like throwing the food on the ground and demanding money.
