Our first night in Highlands had us wandering around aimlessly looking for places to eat that had something for all of our cravings. My daughter wanted pasta, I wanted fish, my husband, steak. Wild Thyme popped up ét voila all our needs were met. Delicious cocktails and excellent service married with freshly made, hot cuisine. All three of us polished our plates. Which almost never happens. There is always a to-go box in our future. Our server was a lovely lady who was working doubles because they are short staffed for the holidays but she still managed to smile and make sure we were enjoying ourselves. I highly recommend the Portobello Mushroom Napoleon—layers of mushrooms in a fluffy pastry accompanied by a delicious sherry tomato sauce; it’s a fantastic vegetarian option. Tom chose the Shrimp and Sea Scallops for his main course, which were poached in a zesty lemon dill caper cream sauce and served with snow peas—another excellent dish. He also enjoyed the Lump Crab Filo Purses.
We paired our meal with the Patz Hall Dutton Ranch Chardonnay, which was an excellent choice. The only downside of the evening came from the General Manager, who, when asked about a particular aperitif, simply said "no" and offered no alternatives or menu options. Over-priced but good food. It was a 30 min wait to get seated. We had a soup, spring rolls and the Risotto shrimp fritters. 16$ for three fritters that didn’t taste of any shrimp is ridiculous! The soup was really good though. Having mentioned on the menu that they charge 4$ for sharing food feels like nickel and dime-ing and a super cheap thing to do.
Overall our experience was good. Service was great, timing on dish delivery was on point. The food was just average, nothing special and nothing we’d yearn to come back for next time we are in town. Overall 3 star place for us.

This charming restaurant is located on Highland's Main Street, nestled in a corner near Kilwen's. If the weather permits, I highly recommend asking for outdoor seating, as it enhances the dining experience.
