Arcadia,Ca. This place serves a non traditional pizza that has amazing taste and flavors that just pop. It is a pie with a corn based crust that is perfectly prepared. I'm not sure what they do to make this pizza taste so good, but I think it is worth the price, which is more than your average pizza. But then this is not your average pie. I'd say try it, you'll like it. Wether it's worth it is up to you, I know I'll be back. The vibe here is kind of divey, but the staff is very friendly and they seem to enjoy their jobs. So much hype for a cornmeal crust. Really? I've been here a couple of times really wanting to love the place because the people are nice. These days kindness is at a premium. But the food is just average. Gourmet pizza? Not so much. But if you're hungry, the corn pizza is tasty and will do in a pinch. I found the beet salad, the way it was prepared, impossible to eat. I had to take it all out of the container and shred the lettuce and re-cut all the beets. It's just lazy to give customers big chunks like that and not have the lettuce bite-size. It's tasty but the clunkiness of it and all the work to eat it was just not worth it. And, I hope I'm not right, but those beets tasted canned to me....
Upon arriving, staff was very friendly. We were able to sit anywhere we wanted. The ambiance wasn't too loud so that was nice. We ordered a ceasar salad and a half sausage pizza. The ceasar salad was not a traditional ceasar salad. The dressing was more of a lemon vinaigrette and the croutons used were REALLY SMALL. The vinaigrette was tasty but it just was not what we expected. The pizza, the dough was very hard. Usually deep dish pizza is crispy on the outside and still fluffy at the same time. This dough was just hard and way over cooked. The sauce and toppings were tasty. Our server knew we were in between the pesto so she was kind enough to add a slice of the pesto there for us. Great neighborhood pizza spot! Their corn meal crust brings something unique to the area. They have a rotating special flavors on a cute little chalk board stand. You can order by the slice, half, or whole. We are a party of 2 and avg about 2-3 slices per person depending on how hungry you are. I wish it was a saucier pizza but that's personal preference. Service is pretty chill cause there's never too much of a crowd here. Parking on the street or there's a lot in the side back-ish.
This place is outrageous expensive for not that great pizza. The crust was hard. They said all their pizzas are premade so if we wanted to make our own we would have to get a cheese pizza and to add toppings. It was $46 for a large!!! Really????? If you want one of their premade pizzas it will a lot less expensive. Still around $30 a pizza. That 's a no!!
Apologize to the kitchen for showing up 45 minuets before they closed but we had a great experience! The staff was welcoming and the food was awesome! They are very unique because they use a cornmeal crust which taste great and holds all the toppings way better than a standard crust. Will definitely visit again, thanks for the service guys!!
