The service at this restaurant was frustratingly slow, with our group of eight spending a total of three hours there. Our meals arrived at different times, with delays of 5 to 10 minutes between each serving. While the other dishes were average, the salmon in my salad was undercooked and had to be sent back. I ended up having to find another waitress to address the issue since our original server was unaware of it. When she finally stopped by, she mistakenly thought I hadn't received my meal at all. I've been twice in the last year with my mom and she's been with my dad on a few occasions, and every experience has been disappointing. We're rarely there at peak times; the last time, there were maybe three other tables in the dining room and a total of no more than ten people. The service is always incredibly slow, the food is often not very flavorful, and my dad even reported receiving room-temperature soup and no effort to remedy the situation. We got a waitress and her trainee once and one of them was so loud that trying to talk to her was remarkably unpleasant. We had dined at Bella' Gio once before and had a pleasant experience, but this visit was quite different. The restaurant was moderately busy, but it didn't feel overcrowded. After placing our order, we had to wait 45 minutes for our meals to arrive. Once we finished eating, our server came over to ask if we needed a takeout box, and we said yes. Unfortunately, it took about 20 minutes for the box to arrive. During that time, 2-3 other servers noticed us waiting and inquired if we needed a box, which only added to our frustration. Despite their attention, we still had to wait an additional 20 minutes. The food was decent, but the service left much to be desired.
I've consistently enjoyed the food here. While it may not be the absolute best Italian cuisine I've encountered, it's certainly good, and the portion sizes are quite generous. During my recent visit, I ordered the Chicken Francese, which was served with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. It was delicious! The waiter was friendly, and the service was relatively swift. From what I've gathered in other reviews, service has faced challenges in the past, but it seems they may have hired more staff, leading to improvements. Overall, Bella' Gio is a fantastic Italian restaurant in Cheshire!
Our group had a reservation, were promptly seated and our drinks came quickly. Our meals were delicious but delayed and the sides did not come with our meal and we had to request them. After finishing our meal and paying our bill we were then asked to leave the table because someone had been waiting for THAT particular table where the five of us were dining. There were tables available elsewhere. At 75 years old and having never been subjected to such an experience, I hope it is my last as I will not ever return to this restaurant.
The food was absolutely delicious, and the portions were quite generous. I ordered the green apple salad with salmon, and the piece of salmon was enormous and tasted amazing. I relished every bite. The only downside to our experience was that we had lunch outside when the restaurant opened at noon, and they began mowing the lawn right as we were eating. We dined on the patio of this restaurant on a warm Wednesday night in late July. They had our favorite musician, Marty Q, performing, which added to the enjoyment of the evening. The food was excellent, featuring highlights such as the cavatelli and veal entree. The service was both friendly and efficient. The patio provided a wonderful atmosphere for our dining experience.
